Kendell’s Special Trip to Hawaii to Visit “Papa Jim”

Kendell, diagnosed with a severe immunodeficiency disorder, enjoyed a very special trip to beautiful Hawaii where he was able to celebrate his birthday with “Papa Jim.”

Family Thank You

“We can’t thank you enough for this opportunity. Not only was Hawaii an amazing place to visit, but we spent time with Papa Jim, who is 92, and this is possibly the last visit we will have with him. We celebrated Kendell’s birthday there. Papa Jim arranged for us to stay at Bellows Air Force base in one of their houses sitting right on the beach for three nights, then off to Waikiki for another three nights…We attended the Hawaiian Royal Band with the hula dancer and amazing music. We had several female cardinals that came in our house at Bellows. We kept the doors open on both sides, and they would come in and walk around looking for snacks on the floor. You did not need air conditioning in Hawaii… and no jackets. It’s beautiful everywhere you look. This is maybe a once in a life-time opportunity. So many people wish they could go to Hawaii, but you made Kendell’s wish possible.” – Carol, Kendell’s mom.
